LUMIN has been continuously working within the framework of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, identifying activities and actions to promote sustainability throughout the company’s value chain.
 
The Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU) and the Union of Exporters of Uruguay (UEU) award a Sustainable Management Seal with five levels, recognizing the maturity of companies in advancing sustainable management practices.
 
This year, LUMIN joined the evaluation process to demonstrate its sustainable management efforts. The evaluation used the Sustainable Management Manual, its requirements, and tools to achieve triple impact for Uruguayan exporting companies, alongside the matrix of requirements for the sustainable management seal.
 
After a formal evaluation of compliance and supporting evidence, it was concluded that the company has made significant strides in implementing the UEU-LATU Sustainable Management Seal within the agreed timelines. The commitment of the entire team to sustainability was highlighted through the actions proposed to meet the requirements for the level they applied for—Level 3.
 
The seal was presented during the 2024 Recognition of Export Effort ceremony, organized annually by the Banco República (BROU) and the Union of Exporters of Uruguay (UEU). The event was attended by Uruguay’s President, Luis Lacalle Pou, along with ministers, ambassadors, representatives of various state agencies and the political system, and members of the export community. Representing LUMIN were CFO José Ausqui, Human Resources Manager Mara Pisano, and Head of Safety Joaquín Castro.
 
This year’s ceremony recognized companies that began the process in 2023 and either advanced a level or maintained their status in 2024, as well as nine new companies, including LUMIN, that joined the program.
 
This initiative also contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goals, including:
