Transportation and logistics:
Maintaining safety standards across our logistics and transport operations is key. All drivers and contractors are required to pass thorough training.
We exercise strict controls over travel safety and monitor all means of transportation looking for opporunties to improve.
We have a modern fleet of trucks that supply our panel plant, moving wood from the northern and easern regions of Uruguay.
Transporting panels:
To move panels from our Tacuarembó plant to Montevideo, we utilize two modes of transportation: a fleet of outsourced trucks which adjust according to our loading requirements, and rail services. For shipments to destinations within Uruguay and the surrounding areas we outsource transport.
The logistics team is responsible for monitoring compliance, upholding our safety standards and prioritising accident prevention across both local and regional deliveries. Drivers are given full training.
We also offer comprehensive maritime export logistics. When it comes to exporting our materials, we employ different modes of transportation depending on the volume and our clients' requirements. We can utilise containers or cargo ships for distribution to the United States, Mexico, Europe, Central American and Asia.
Route 5 Logistics Depot and Storage:
Our export orders are prepared and stored at our logistics and storage depot located on Route 5, km 33, within the RAS Group Industrial Park. The facility boasts 10,000 m² of covered storage space and a yard for maneuvering empty containers.
We occasionally utilize contracted warehouses that meet our strict security and operational standards.
We use a state of the art loadplate® platform to automate the process of loading containers. This saves time and reduces the possibility of damage to the goods.
In partnership with ANII, we've integrated RFID technology to optimize stock management and drive efficiencies across our warehouse operation. It also allows provides increased traceability of the movement of stock, allowing us to track the materials in real-time.
In addition, we use electric forklifts and have automated the process to remove tarpaulin from the trucks which provides greater efficiency and enhanced safety for drivers.
Our logistics operations adhere to stringent risk management plans and comply with the security and certification standards set by the National Customs Directorate, Qualified Economic Operator (OEC, also known internationally as Authorized Economic Operator, OAS).
